“Education for All” aims to improve the reading, writing and basic arithmetic skills of children between 6-14 years. Even though India has taken significant strides to improve enrollment levels in schools, a large percentage of children still lack these essential skills.
“Education for All” is executed with the help of Alexarya Foundation staff members on the ground and is aided by volunteers from the local community. The volunteers are mobilized and trained by the Alexarya Foundation team.
The first phase of Read India was launched on a national scale in 2017 with a few broad objectives:
- All grade I children should know alphabets and numbers.
- All grade II children should be able to read simple words and calculate simple sums
- All grades III to V children should be able to fluently read simple texts and solve arithmetic problems.
